Mrs. Patricia Joan Winsemius' Obituary
Mrs. Patricia Joan (Tripp) Winsemius, age 57, passed away at her home on Monday, November 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Detroit on March 18, 1957 to Lloyd H. and Ann B. (McCarthy) Tripp and moved to Spring Lake in 1979 after graduating from Michigan State University. Pat was a financial advisor for 26 years and co-owned Focus Financial. She loved to help her clients and found her work very rewarding. Pat’s pride was centered on her family. She raised three wonderful children with her husband of 32 years. She always found ways to show each of her children how special they were to her. She treasured watching her youngest son play baseball and being involved in her older children’s lives. Pat enjoyed putzing in her garden, golfing with family, being outdoors, camping, bonfires with friends, and family gatherings with her large family. Pat truly understood that simple pleasures are life’s treasures. She attended C-3 Exchange and was a member of Spring Lake Rotary, the Women’s Division of Muskegon Chamber of Commerce, and the Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council. Volunteering in many outreach groups throughout her life brought her great joy. On April 24, 1982, Pat married Paul A. Winsemius in Spring Lake and he survives her along with their three children, Nicholas A. (Sarah Abel) Winsemius of Holland, Katie L. (Joseph) Cutshall of Fruitport and Benjamin L. Winsemius of Spring Lake; her parents, Lloyd and Ann Tripp; two brothers, David (Gail) Tripp and Paul (Theresa) Tripp; five sisters, Karen (Bryan) Jinnett, Mary (Gregory) Lewis, Jane Robertson, Calla Jean (Mark) Laesch and Margaret (Mark) Taylor and two sisters-in-law, Janet (John) Austermiller and Debora Winsemius and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Pat Aker and two brothers-in-law, Bruce Winsemius and Daniel Winsemius. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Bob Kleinheksel officiating. VISITATION will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014. MEMORIALS may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa, Spring Lake Rotary or Women’s Division of Muskegon Chamber of Commerce.
