Patricia E. "Pat' Wright's Obituary
Patricia E. (Mallory) Wright, age 71, of Spring Lake, MI passed away October 25, 2022. Pat was
born February 15, 1951, in Grand Haven, MI to William and Olive (Davenport) Mallory. Pat
graduated from Coopersville High School in 1969 and immediately went to work as a secretary
for Meijer Inc. Following the death of her first husband Pat enrolled in Northwestern Michigan
College in Traverse City and transferred to Grand Valley State University where she earned a
BS degree in Mathematics with a Secondary teaching Certificate in 1993. In 1994 she was
employed by Grand Rapids Public Schools at Union High School where she taught all levels of
high school math before retiring in 2010. In 2006 she was named outstanding teacher of the
year for all Grand Rapids high schools.
Pat is survived by her husband of 30 years Jay Wright of Spring Lake, MI; two sisters: Roberta
(Bobbi) Passalacqua of Norton Shores, MI Judi (Gary) Mallory Sabo of Kalamazoo MI; Three
brothers: William (Marvel) Mallory, Traverse City MI, Dennis Mallory Norton Shores, MI, Brian
(Carolina) Mallory Levering, MI; five nieces: Sarah (Ivan) Rahman, Michelle (Ed) Yiu, Jill (Doug)
Wood, Amanda (Marc) Ferraro, Melanie (Greg) McEvoy Zuhoski; two nephews, Patrick (Vanessa) McEvoy
and Mike McEvoy; Stepson Scott Wright, Grant MI; Stepdaughters: Deborah (Alan) Adler,
Commerce Township, MI, Lauren Wright Bhattachayra Hoffman Estates IL; seven
grandchildren: Bryce (Sarah) Julien-Bell, Hunter Julien, Genevieve Adler, Mark Adler Joel
Adler, Soren (Morgan) Wright and Ria Bhattachayra.
Pat’s favorite role was as Oma to her seven grandchildren. She will always be remembered for
her humor and love of life. Pat was an avid square dancer, snowmobiler, camper and traveler.
She always raised her hand when a volunteer was needed and made sure that everyone was
included and welcomed in any group.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, with visitation an hour before the service at the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church 760 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake MI with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be at a family graveside gathering to be held in the Spring 2023 at Bliss Cemetery, Emmet County MI.
