Mr. Patrick W. Grantsynn's Obituary
Mr. Patrick W. Grantsynn, 69, passed away Thursday evening, February 12, 2015. A life resident of Muskegon, he was born August 17, 1945 to William R. and Jessie M. (Cummings) Grantsynn. Patrick served his country as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, and was a member of Derezinski Post 7729 VFW. He worked as a Lab Tech at Lear Siegler and Lift-Tech before retiring in 2003. His SURVIVORS include his wife, the former Harriette J. Peters; daughters Berni (Gary) Carlson, Cynthea (Robert) Shantz, and Alesia Condon; eight grandchildren: Gary (Michaela) Carlson, Jori Carlson, Marcellus Shantz, Jessica Carlson, Stephanie Shantz, Jennifer Carlson, and Aidan and Caitlin Condon; two great-grandchildren: Liam and Audrey Carlson; a brother, Robert (Julia) Grantsynn; nephews William (Tammy) Grantsynn and Robert (Ashley) Grantsynn; and nieces Theresa Robison and Mary (Karl) Wilson. His parents and a sister, Michaela Givens predeceased him. Patrick was an avid hunter and fisherman, but mostly loved spending time with his family. VISITATION for Mr. Grantsynn will be 6-8 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2015, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-726-5210, and an hour prior to A FUNERAL SERVICE and Military Rites which will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Nate Kooistra officiating, and Military Honors by Muskegon County Council Veterans of Foreign Wars and Marine Corps League Detatchment 703 Honor Guards.
