Patrick Joseph Schullo's Obituary
Patrick Joseph Schullo, age 91, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born May 1, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Alonzo and Freida (Higgins) Schullo. He attended Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and graduated in 1948. Pat enjoyed a successful 50-year career in the Insurance Industry where he developed lifelong friendships. Pat married Eileen Heeringa on January 31, 1976, in Grand Rapids, MI, and they were blessed with 46 years together. He was an avid golfer, loved to read, and took every opportunity to tell a good joke in his unique style. Living in the Grand Haven area, Pat and Eileen enjoyed being close to the lakeshore, especially taking a drive by the beach or a road trip up north. Above all though, Pat loved his family and had a strong Christian faith. Pat will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Eileen; daughters, Mary Beth (Phil) Maguire, Lynn Schullo Schneider (Jeff), and Susan Marie Schullo; sons, Patrick Schullo II and Timothy Schullo; stepsons, James (Tina) Minto and Rob McKenna; stepdaughter, Sue (Al) Cooper; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Sydnor and Peggy (Jerry) Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathleen Nowak; and brothers, Edward Schullo and Alonzo Schullo Jr.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2022, at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Parish (920 Fulton St, Grand Haven, MI 49417) with Fr. Charles Schwartz presiding. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service (10:00 AM). Memorial Contributions in honor of Pat can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
