Mrs. Patsy L. Jonas' Obituary
Mrs. Patsy Lou Jonas, age 86 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019. She was born on October 23, 1932 to Carl and Marie (Gringhuis) Lindeman in Grand Rapids. On December 3, 1949 she married Donald Jonas in Grand Rapids and they spent 69 wonderful, active years together. Pat accomplished so many things in her life, her working years included jobs at Grants and Sirkit Inc. Outside of work she enjoyed horseback riding, bike riding, hunting (both in Michigan and in the western states), was a regular on stage in the Elks Minstrel show during the ‘70’s, fishing, camping, water skiing, snow skiing, sewing, singing in the church choir, performing in the churches Easter pageant, and painting. Nothing, however, was greater than her love of God and her family. She almost couldn’t contain herself when she saw one of her grand or great grandchildren walk in the room, her smile was infectious. She was a prayer warrior, one thing you knew is that you didn’t have to ask her to pray for you…she was already doing it morning and night. She will be missed for her genuine empathetic heart, her sense of humor, her goofiness, and for modeling what it should look like to be a wife, mom, grandparent, and true woman of God. Pat is survived by her husband, Don; children, Rod (Sandy) Jonas, Gail (Gary) Constant, Cindy Corwin and Scott (Donni) Jonas; grandchildren, Kristin (Robin) Young and Hunter Jonas, Chad (Kimberly) Constant and Staci (Craig) Alguire, Stephanie Smith, Matt (Stacey) Corwin and Jamie Corwin, Kyle Jonas, Tanner Jonas and Brady Jonas, along with 16 great grandchildren; also, brother Don (Blanche) Lindeman. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Carl “Sonny” Lindeman and Joyce Gitchel. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 4 at 11AM at All Shores Wesleyan Church (15550 Cleveland St., Spring Lake, 49456) with Pastor Peter Yoshonis officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, February 3 from 2-4PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 49444, 231-798-1100. Visitation will also be available with the family at 10:00 am on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions in Patsy’s name may be directed to Hospice of North Ottawa.
