Mr. Paul Lancas Hubbell's Obituary
Paul Lancas Hubbell, age 95, of Muskegon, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Fountain View Assisted Living Center. Paul was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Jane (Chesebro) Hubbell; 3 daughters, Sherida Lea (Robert) Flohr, Susan Rae (Paul) Hershey, and Sandra Jo (Robert) Thompson; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Mark) Kohler, Melissa Hiles, Joshua Thompson, Brandon (Nichole) Hershey, Jesse (Maranda) Thompson, Cory (Kristi) Hershey, and Brett (Brittney) Hershey; nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was the son of Calvin and Mary (Madden) Hubbell whom preceded him in death along with his siblings, Percy, Lois, Erma, Harry, Gordon, Walker, Ethelyn, and Walter. Paul was the second youngest of nine siblings born in Kingsley, MI and raised in Grant, MI. Paul graduated from Grant High School, and upon graduation, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant. He was stationed in England during World War II. He then started his career at Teledyne Continental Motors as an experimental engineer, later traveling in sales and services. He retired at the age of 65, after 47 years of service. Paul was an active member of Evanston Ave. Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church in Beulah, MI. He and his brothers helped erect the Chapel at Center Lake Bible Camp; also serving as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent, and as a deacon throughout his many years of church service. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Noon Friday, June 9, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church, 3593 Whitehall Rd. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service (11AM-12PM). Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Friday at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Fountain View Assisted Living Center 640 W. Randall St. Coopersville, MI. or the Alzheimer’s Association.
