Paul Robert Johnson's Obituary
Paul Robert Johnson, age 86, passed away on March 12, 2023, in Muskegon, MI, and is now rejoicing with his heavenly Father. Paul was born on January 31, 1937, in Muskegon, to his parents Antone and Lena (Wolfe) Johnson. He graduated from North Muskegon High School, and then went on to work for many years as a contractor, owner of his own construction company, and then as a building inspector for Lakewood and Dalton Townships. He loved to build things, spending a lot of time tinkering with machines and small engines over the years. He was a longtime faithful servant of Christ and was a great role model for many people. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and watching the races at Thunderbird Speedway, but more recently he enjoyed watching football on TV. Paul will be lovingly remembered his four children: David (Nan) Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Maribeth (Kurt) Shields, and Joni (Dan) Rawdon; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; his wife of 18 years, Rosemary Johnson; many stepchildren and step grandchildren who were very important to him; three siblings: Vern (Judy) Johnson, Darlene Sarrison, and Norma (Joe) Scott; and four siblings in-law: Betty Johnson, Karen Johnson, Betty Johnson, and Harold Hasse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Lena; first wife, Sharon; second wife, Margaret; daughter, Tammy Lidke; granddaughter, Tiffany Rawdon; daughter in-law, Sherry Johnson; five siblings: Art Johnson, Larry Johnson, Carl Johnson, Elaine Hasse, and Ruth Morse; and two brothers in-law: Larry Morse and Lloyd Sarrison. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM for Paul on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in the Family Center of The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
