Paul Adam Kotecki's Obituary
Mr. Paul Adam Kotecki, age 61, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on June 11, 1963 to Eugene and Beatrice (Guzikowski) Kotecki. Paul graduated from Wesley School and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was employed by Goodwill Industries prior to his retirement. Paul was very involved with Special Olympics and competed in downhill and cross country skiing, horseshoes, baseball, and basketball. A special highlight of his involvement came in 1986 when he was chosen to light the Olympic torch. Paul also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing. He especially loved family weddings where he would find the pretty girls to dance with. Paul is survived by his siblings, Marian Stefanich, Shirley (Stan) Bray, Carol (Tony) Frucci, and Don (Teresa) Kotecki and many loving nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet McCullum; and brother-in-law, Bob Stefanich. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with the ROSARY prayed at 5:30 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to his service at church on Thursday. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Geerling presiding.
