Mr. Paul L. Peterson's Obituary
Mr. Paul L. Peterson, age 84, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Muskegon. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 11, 1927 to Ralph L. and Laura (Laberteaux) Peterson. Mr. Peterson was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Italy during WWII. After his service, he attended Michigan State University where he received a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Muskegon and was employed by Sealed Power working locally and in Ohio, Belgium and Mexico. Mr. Peterson was an active member of Central United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and woodworking, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. On September 18, 1949, Paul married the former Sally A. Burris in Niles, MI and she survives him along with 5 children, Eric C. (Sandra) Peterson of Holland, MI and their children, Kristin and Matthew (Danielle); Jon P. (LeAnn) Peterson of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Laura E. Kahler of North Muskegon, MI and her children, Paul and Sarah; Lisa Peterson of Santa Cruz, CA and her daughter, Caitlin; Jill (Jon) Grigorian of Mooresville, NC and their son, Jacob; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Peterson of Niles, MI; and his golfing buddy, Bill Page. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church (1011 Second Street, Muskegon, MI 49440) with Rev. Diane L. Gordon officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Central UMC Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
