Paul A. Dashner's Obituary
Paul Allan Dashner, age 55, of Robinson Township, passed away March 12, 2011 at his home. He was born November 12, 1955 in Grand Haven and married the former Ruthanne Carskadon on June 21, 1975 in Grand Haven. Mr. Dashner was a 1974 graduate of Grand Haven High School and was employed as a journeyman tool and die maker by Challenge Machine. He had served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 in Grand Haven. Paul was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a member of the Holland Compassionate Care Association, which educates medical professionals on medical marijuana. He enjoyed gardening, marksmanship, was a teacher of Karate and studied Tae Kwon Do under the late master, Monte Beghtol. He is survived by his wife, Ruthanne; his sons, Brian (Cynthia) Dashner of New Port, NC and Matthew James Dashner of Grand Haven; his daughter, Jodi (Dave) Bossardet of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren, Vincent, Jared, Julie and Mariann; his twin sister, Paulette (Steve) Musial of Grand Haven and sisters, Peggy (Peter) Ugrich of Riverview, FL, and Veronica Dashner of Slidell, LA; and; 1 brother, Dan Dashner of Grand Haven. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Erik A. Dashner in 2006; his brother, Glenn Dashner in 2010; and his parents.The service for Mr. Dashner will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 18, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. William Langlois officiating. Military rites will be provided under the auspices of American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Interment will be in Robinson Township Cemetery.
