Paul A. Olson's Obituary
Mr. Paul A. “Ole” Olson, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Mercy Hospital. He was born September 30, 1923 in Muskegon to John & Emma (Hellman) Olson and had been a life resident of the area, graduating from Muskegon High School. Paul was a WW II U.S. Army veteran having served in France, Switzerland and in the Black Forests of Germany. After 32 years of service, “Ole” retired from Brunswick Corporation in 1985. He enjoyed fishing with his brothers, the Detroit Lions and Tigers and had formerly been a motor cyclist and sports car enthusiast. He was a devoted family man who married the former Mary Casadonte on June 5, 1948. SURVIVORS include his wife, Mary; 2 daughters, MaryAnn (David) Janusiewicz of Muskegon and Patricia (Robert) Centner of Spring Lake; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Fethke, Jason Janusiewicz and Casey Centner, 1 brother, Jack (Joyce) Olson of Bridgeman, MI; 1 sister, Marge Olsen of Muskegon; 1 brother-in-law, Anthony Casadonte of North Muskegon and by his beloved dog, Elvis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Emil and wife, Carol Olson, and brother-in-law, Art Olsen. SERVICES will be held 11 AM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (213-726-5210)with Pastor John Brown officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with Paul’s family will be one-hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Michigan Heart Association will be appreciated.
