Paula M. Opalek's Obituary
Paula Marie Opalek, age 76, of Grand Haven passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. She was born in Muskegon on May 25, 1945, to Morris and Winifred (Seng) Vandestelt. Paula loved to spend time with her family, and she especially loved cooking and baking for them. She loved to garden, travel, spend time near the water, and watch her grandsons play soccer. She loved to knit and was also a passionate fan of Notre Dame football. Paula’s family will remember her as someone who cared for everyone she met. Paula is survived by her three children: Lanette (Steven) Harden, Brent Opalek, and Amanda Opalek; two grandsons: Landon and Kaiden Porter; and two siblings: Jane Dehoog and Tim (Nadine) Vanderstelt. Paula was preceded in death by her parents. The family will be holding a celebration of life on Sunday, August 22 from 4:00-7:00 PM at 14652 Hickory St. Spring Lake, MI 49456.
