Paula Vanderstelt's Obituary
Paula Vanderstelt, age 96, was called to heaven on July 30, 2023. She was born on April 5, 1927, in Gladstone, Michigan to John and Esther (Rinard) Morin. On December 28, 1945, she married William Vanderstelt. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage until he passed in 2009. They were blessed and loved by 6 daughters: Sherran (Carl) Esh, Cynthia (James) VanderMolen, Jane (Jim) Johnson, Judy (Jeff) Vanderstelt-Fluegel, Paula (Steve) Huizenga, and Renee (Kevin) Martin, 20 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Melissa, David, and Christopher. Christopher preceding her in death by 6 hours. After her husband’s death she enjoyed the companionship of Harry Weinert. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2022. His daughter, Brenda (Wilbur) Kauff, joined our expanding family circle. Her parents and her four brothers, John, Elwin, Donald and Robert Morin, also passed before her. After having 6 daughters, Paula earned her LPN degree. She spent most of her working years on the OB Floor at Hackley Hospital lovingly caring for new moms and babies. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing, camping and was a 4-H leader. Above all, she loved time spent surrounded by her family. Paula was a charter member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION with the family will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Senior Resources or a charity of your choice.
