Paul D. Christensen's Obituary
Mr. Paul David Christensen, age 66, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Mercy General Hospital. He was born Marvin Peter Dawidiak on May 15, 1939 to Mary Dawidiak in Grand Rapids and adopted by Harold and Ragnhild (Hansen) Christensen as a child. He had resided in the Muskegon area for most of his life. Paul was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He had worked as a metallurgist for both Standard Automotive Parts and most recently CWC Textron. Paul was active in the Boy Scouts for over 20 years and enjoyed volunteering at Knollview Nursing Home where he played the organ. Paul loved watching sports, hunting, cooking, and most importantly spending time with his family. On June 24, 1972 he married the former MaryAnne Stariha and she survives him along with four children: Michael (Kylah) Christensen, Dianne Christensen, Deborah Christensen and John Christensen all of Muskegon; four grandchildren: Cameron Michael, Josiah Michael, Nathaniel Robert and Alexander Paul; his mother Mary Ellison; four brothers: Chuck Corbin of Virginia, Pat Corbin and Sabin Ellison both of Muskegon and Chet Ellison of Florida; one sister: Margaret Cook of Newaygo; and two aunts: Clara Soo of Florida and Tillie Dawidiak of Muskegon along with several nieces and nephews. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Thursday at St. Thomas Catholic Church. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave, 231-726-5210 with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Boy Scout Troop 1032 or the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Burial will take place in Peaceful Pines Family Cemetery at a later date.
