Paul Edward Brondyk's Obituary
Mr. Paul Edward Brondyk, age 77, passed away Thursday evening, August 27, 2009, at home, surrounded by his family. Paul was born August 13, 1932 to William and Hilda (Vlasma) Brondyk in Muskegon. He graduated from Muskegon High School and later married the former Desdy Mae Mathews and she preceded him in death in June of 1993. On December 28, 1995, Paul married the former Loretta Knoll, and she survives him. Early on in his business career, Paul formed Brondyk Construction, created Deep Steam Extraction, and later on owned and operated Surplus Sales, a liquidation enterprise. Paul and Loretta attended Calvary (nondenominational) Church of Grand Rapids. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; 3 children, Tim (Karolin) Brondyk of Twin Lake, Vickie (Rod) Schoenmaker of Fruitport, and Holli (Ron) Franzese of California; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grand children; son-in-law, Jake (Mary) Bishop of Spring Lake; 2 sisters, Dr. Ruth Brondyk (John) VanHemert of Spring Lake, and Esther Steen of Canada; 2 brothers, Jim (Trynette) Brondyke of Holland, MI, and David (Judy) Brondyk of Virginia; former daughter-in-law, Paula; former sister-in-law, Willene (Al) Wezeman of Nunica; many nieces and nephews; and Paul’s special 4 legged angel, Suzette. He was preceded in death by his son, William; grandson, Kristopher; and brother, Calvin. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Dr. James Carlson and Pastor Terry Fulk co-officiating. VISITATION will be Monday evening from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service (10-11am) on Tuesday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to The American Red Cross Local Chapter Senior Transportation Program or VNS Hospice at 888 Terrace St., in Muskegon.
