Pauline Marie Matovic's Obituary
Ms. Pauline Marie Matovic, age 86, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home. She was born May 20, 1926 in Greenville, PA, to Joseph and Agnes (Minarovic) Matovic and lived in the area her entire life. She worked in the accounting department at Norge Corp and later worked in accounting at Mercy Hospital. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Muskegon Eagles. Pauline was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan and organized charter busses for family and friends to many of the games in Detroit. She was also a hockey fan of the former Muskegon Zephyrs and the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Pauline was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society and was involved with the senior citizens group. Pauline was a proud member of the Muskegon Eagle’s Women’s Auxiliary for 62 years and was inducted into the Eagle’s Michigan Auxiliary Hall of Fame. The family would like to express much gratitude to her friends at the Eagle’s. SURVIVORS include her sister, Rose Paparella of Roosevelt Park; her nieces and nephews, Susan Mangiapane of CA, John (Kathy) Paparella of Mount Pleasant, Joseph (Marcy) Paparella of Roosevelt Park, David Paparella of Roosevelt Park, Richard (Sheryl) Paparella of AZ, Thomas (Wanda) Korson of IN, Gerald Korson of OR, James (Autumn) Korson of IN, Robert (Wendy) Korson of IN, Daniel (Therese) Korson of Norton Shores; many cousins, including special cousin, Nancy Czerwon of Norton Shores. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Korson, brother-in-law, Frank Korson and brother-in-law, Louis Paparella. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Antony Britto as celebrant. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Thursday (this evening) at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey Street (231) 798-1100. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM this evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to Mass, 9-10 AM Friday at church. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
