Mrs. Pauline J. Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Pauline J. Nelson, age 90, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Pauline was born June 22, 1922 in Shawnee Town, Illinois to Fred and Theresa (Gabel) Schiff. On February 6, 1943 she married Harold W. Nelson Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1976. Pauline was a homemaker and a visiting nurses aid. She lived for her family and every grandchild thinks they were her favorite. Pauline is SURVIVED by her children, Linda (Keith) Allen, Harold W. “Butch” (Jolene) Nelson Jr., Phyllis (Jon) Baker, Debra (David) Iams; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. She was PRECEDED in death by her husband, Harold; sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, Sister Mary Henry Schiff, Mandy, Mary and Rita. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, March 4, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Antony Britto as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be held Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2-5 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 PM Sunday at the Lee Chapel. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in lieu of flowers may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
