Pauline L. Wackernagel's Obituary
Pauline L. Wackernagel, passed away at home on April 24, 2015. She was born on May 25, 1921 to Coral and Goldie (Pierson) Runyan in Hart, MI. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was involved in teaching Sunday school. Pauline graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, taught 25 years for Muskegon Public Schools and was especially fond of her time at Froebel School with her second graders. During her 93 years of life, many great events occurred. Pauline lived through the Great Depression, World War II, Kennedy, man on the moon and all the advances of technology. She experienced the good and the bad within her life. Pauline enjoyed watching birds, car racing, fall color tours, big band music and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She married Clayton Wackernagel and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1992. SURVIVORS include 3 children, son, Wayne Wackernagel; daughters, Barbara (Michael) Roys and Susan Lynn; 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church (2250 Denmark St.). VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. BURIAL will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to VNS Hospice would be appreciated.
