Paul Irving Nordstrom's Obituary
Mr. Paul Irving Nordstrom, age 74, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007. Paul was born February 7, 1932 and adopted into the family of F. Victor and Jennie (Horness) Nordstrom as an infant. He lived his whole life in Muskegon and was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School. On September 25, 1953 he married the former Ruth E. Morse and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2003. Paul was employed as a dispatcher for Interstate Motor Freight for 32 years. He then worked for Reid Tool and most recently for Sam’s Club. He had also, at one time, owned and operated The Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop for more than 10 years. Paul was a lifelong member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. He also served his community as an Old Newsie for many years. Paul enjoyed camping and his breakfast time with friends at Nino’s Restaurant. SURVIVORS include his daughters, Mary Nordstrom and Sarah (Doug) Peterson of Muskegon; sons, David (Carole) Nordstrom and Daniel (Kellie) Nordstrom of Twin Lake; 12 grandchildren, Angela, Taylor, MacKenzie, Theran, Tabetha, Hannah and Spenser Nordstrom, Matthew, Jordan, Stephanie and Jennifer Peterson and Caitlin Bechtel; sisters, Alice (Stewart) Rosegrant, Ruth Schrader and Barbara Ohs; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Nordstrom was also preceded in death by his infant son, Theran, in 1954. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Tuesday, January 9 at Lakeside Baptist Church (2250 Denmark St.) with Pastor Ken Shady officiating. Interment will be in E. Dalton-Oakhill Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at
