Paulita G. Pena's Obituary
Mrs. Paulita G. Peña, age 69, passed away Tuesday evening, March 10, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born September 6, 1939 to Higinio and Soledad (Partida) Garibay in Laredo, TX, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1964. Mrs. Peña was retired from the Muskegon Regional Center, and also volunteered as a crossing guard for the Norton Shores Police Department. She was a member of the Excalibur Club, had been the recording secretary for the Latin American Club, enjoyed seasonal and exterior landscaping, Spanish soap operas, cooking, and dancing. Mrs. Peña was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. On April 12, 1961 she married Reynaldo Peña, and he survives her along with five sons, Reynaldo (Jackie) Peña, Jr., Mario Alberto (Kirsten) Peña, Francisco Fernando (Kellie) Peña, Jesus Refugio (Eva) Peña, Ramiro (Michele) Peña II; 17 grandchildren; 2 sisters from Laredo, Alicia (Jose) DeLeon, Delia Ruiz; many friends and Godchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 17, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. VISITATION at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd.(231) 759-8565 will be from 6-8 PM Monday, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM.
