Peppy Keat's Obituary
Peppy Keat, age 92, passed away on December 9, 2022 at home. She was born on September 8, 1930 to Paul and Aridne (Fotiades) Tailor in Mason City, Iowa. Peppy was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church; Daughters of Penelope, Philoptochos Society, life member of the MEA and Muskegon Museum of Art. She graduated from Iowa University in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Peppy worked as an art and English teacher for Muskegon Public Schools for 33 years prior to her retirement in 1985. She truly enjoyed art painting and playing the game of bridge. On June 30, 1957, she married James E. Keat and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2012. SURVIVORS include daughter, Mary Anne (Donald) Volkmann; 3 grandchildren, Stephen (Sherrie) Fisher, Leah (Robert) Sandore, and Jillian Voss; 10 great-grandchildren, Zachary Romer, Kyle (Raegan) Romer, Quinn Bernal, Jake (Allston) Fisher, Lillian Fisher, Lane Fisher, Kian Voss, Kayla Sandore, Aaron Foster and Sage Foster; 3 great-great grandchildren, Colton Romer, Jovi Fisher and Lilah Rathburn; nephew, John (Sandra) Tailor. Peppy was preceded in death by her brother, John Tailor and sister, Katherine Tailor. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM, December 14, 2022 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Rd.) with Fr. Joseph Gingrich presiding. VISITATION will be from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
