Perry E. Shippell's Obituary
Mr. Perry E. Shippell, age 50, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at his home. He was born November 2, 1958 in Muskegon to Raymond & Ethel “Peggy” (Heminger) Shippell and had been a life resident of the area. Perry was a U.S. Air Force veteran. On February 28, 1987 he became a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Post Office, where he was still employed; and was a member of the National Letter Carriers Assoc. He was also a member of the Fruitport Eagles and had formerly played in their pool league. On October 31, 2003 he married the former Karen (Miesel) Long and she survives him along with 3 step-sons, Nathan, Aaron and Troy Long, all of Muskegon, 1 granddaughter, Mara Long; 2 brothers, Raymond Shippell of WA and Jeff (Rochelle) Shippell of Muskegon; 1 niece, “Sam” and 1 nephew, Scott Shippell, serving in Iraq. VISITATION with Perry’s family will be 4-8PM Friday, October 16, 2009 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210).
