Peter Pastori's Obituary
Mr. Peter Pastori, age 93, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006 at his home. Mr. Pastori was born April 13, 1913 to Martin and Frieda (Biasi) Pastori in Bessemer, MI and came to this area as a teenager. In 1934 he married Dorothy E. Israelson. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1998. Mr. Pastori was a US Army veteran who served during WWII and was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 446. He had been employed at Norge Refrigeration Plant for many years and was employed by North Muskegon Public Schools as a custodian and bus driver for 15 years. Also, in the mid Sixties, he and his wife owned and operated Pastori Grocery in Muskegon Township. In retirement they enjoyed traveling together. Peter was a talented painter and woodworker, who created elaborate birdhouses. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to cook and above all, loved his family. He was also an avid fisherman for many, many years. In recent years Pete had attended classes at Mercy-General Heart Center. His SURVIVORS include his children, Patricia Skellenger of Sun City West, AZ, Ruth Ann (Jim) Edwards of Lewes, DE, Michael (Debbie) Pastori of Sun City West, AZ, Sheryll (David) Waters of Delray Beach, FL and Heidi Pastori of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 brother, William Pastori; and many loving nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. “Come celebrate me home” with a MILITARY SERVICE held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 28, 2006 at VFW Post # 446(165 S.
