Peter Peliotes' Obituary
Peter Peliotes, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He was born in Muskegon on March 10, 1939 to John and Mary (Fotis) Peliotes, and was a life resident. He began working at just 11 years old, bussing tables at his brother’s G & L Restaurant. Pete later spent several years working for Brunswick, testing bowling balls and pins, before moving to Jiroch Candy & Tobacco, where he worked for 30 years.
During high school, Pete played both football and basketball, sparking a lifelong love of sports, especially cheering on U of M. He was an avid bowler who enjoyed being part of teams for many years, and he also loved spending time on the dance floor, sharing music and moments with his wife, Barb.
On May 4, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Barb Graham. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary next month.
SURVIVORS include his wife, Barb; three children, Dana Peliotes, Amy Jo (Lou) Kass, and Steven (Joann) Peliotes; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Doornbos, Calahan Peliotes, Carter Peliotes, and Joshua (Jena) Kass; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa (Robert) Underwood, Pete’s twin sister, Molly Curran, and Niki (Larry) Gess.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Peliotes, Frank Peliotes, Chuck “Gust” Peliotes; and sisters, Sophie Masterman and Soula Franks.
VISITATION with Pete’s family will be 3-5 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. A private family burial will take place.
