Peter W. Pulos' Obituary
Mr. Peter W. Pulos, age 93, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Muskegon. He was born on June 7, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Sam and Margo (Stravopoulos) Pulos, and resided in the Muskegon area since 1926. Peter was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and World War II, and was one of the original members of the fighting Seabees in the Pacific Theatre. He was the owner of Ajax Reproduction Services for 25 years, and then Tony’s Restaurant in Muskegon for 35 years until retiring in 1988. Peter was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and served as a board member and past President of the Church. He also belonged to the Grand Haven Golf Course and was a member of the Muskegon Country Club. Peter also enjoyed driving speedboats for Sam and Carol’s friends and all the cousins, and spending time at the summer cottage, Sleepy Hollow in Twin Lake with family and friends. On April 24, 1946, he married the former Catherine Lakos and together celebrated 68 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on December 16, 2014. They enjoyed wintering and vacationing in Pompano Beach, Naples and Fort Myers Beach for many years with family and friends. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Sam (Tina) Pulos and Carol (Edward) Rondo; 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Katina, Peter and William; and eight great-grandchildren, Madison, Gabrielle, Samirah, Constantine, Alexandria, Zachary, Bailey and Cooper. Peter was preceded in death by his siblings John, George, Betty, Jean, Ruby, and Vivian. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11AM Tuesday, November 17 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Rd.) with Fr. James Honeycutt presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 and also one hour prior to the service at church, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
