Geertruida Riesenbeck
. My father in law was the third brother to Peters father Jaap. His name was Hijmen Riesenbeck,(1927-2012) . Hij wanted to visite his brother Jaap in 1994 for one last time.
The way of living in America was a revelation for is,do different from our way of living.We went with uncle Jaap to meet Peter and a part of his family. Hè was a friendley man and verry interested in his nephvew Paul,my huisband me and our family. We went out to a restaurant for a meal. We were surprised because it was a restaurant with a buffet and that was something new for us we didn't know that concept. Ik still remember that he payed the bill, itwas 34 dollar for 9 persons! For as that was unbelieveble.
We had a nice day,that was sadly the only time we spend with him and his family but its a nice memory.
