Philip W. Adams' Obituary
On May 18, 2024, in Muskegon, MI, Philip Wayne Adams, age 85, went to be with the Lord. Phil was born on February 9, 1939, to Frank and Bertha (Croft) Adams in Ionia, MI. He graduated from Ionia High School and went on to work for 31 years at Meijer, starting as a bagger and working his way up to become one of their store managers, then worked for 16 years at Besser Lithibar in Holland. On August 26, 1961, he married the former Linda Warren, and the two of them spent 62+ wonderful years married together. Phil had a very strong faith; he attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Muskegon for many years, and then Zion Lutheran Church while his family lived in Holland, eventually returning to Trinity Lutheran when his family moved back to Muskegon. Phil greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always selfless and a very hard worker, always providing for his family and others. He was kind and well-respected, was always very sociable and friendly, and never spoke ill of anyone. He had a great sense of humor and loved sweets, especially Ice Cream. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda Adams; three children: Karen Adams, Don (Cindy) Adams, and Jeff (Jane) Adams; three granddaughters: Jessica Adams, Olivia (Cherokey) Adams, and Emily Adams; great-granddaughter, Sophie Michaelis; a beloved best friend, Rascal the big yellow dog; three brothers: Richard Adams, Bud (Helen) Adams, and Bill Adams; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Adams; seven brothers: Jim Adams, Larry Adams, Mick Adams, Terry Adams, Steve Adams, and Donald Adams; and sister in-law, Barb Adams.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for Phil at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024, at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI, 49441, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission for Area People.
