Philip H. Prior's Obituary
Philip Prior passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his home in Muskegon after a long illness. He was born April 30, 1954 to Frances and Henry Prior of Grand Rapids. Phil repaired and painted boats at many marinas in the area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years and was a baseball coach for many years at Hile Recreation, which he enjoyed very much. He also liked listening to sports radio and NPR. On August 20, 1976, he married Kathy Newville and were married 42 years. Phil is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons: Joseph (Veronica) and Jeffrey Prior; two granddaughters: Averey and Kalli Brady, whom he adored; brother in law, Thomas (Pam) Newville; nephew and niece: Thomas (Jamie) Newville and Kristy (Tim) Newman; cousins: Terry (Dennis) Andersen, Rick Smith, Steven (Mary) Smith, and Stacy Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister: Dirk and Kathy Prior; mother and father-in-law: Donald and Jane Newville; aunt and uncle: Anna VonBusch and Casey (Joan) Smith. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100.
