Philip John Yedinak's Obituary
Mr. Philip John Yedinak, age 83, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 in Grand Rapids. He was born in Grand Haven on January 26, 1935 to Joseph and Mary (Kasper) Yedinak. Phil graduated from Grand Haven High School, class of 1953 and lived in Grand Haven until moving to Grand Rapids in 1998. He had worked at Gardner Denver as a tool and die maker for many years prior to his retirement. Phil was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Grand Rapids and was a former member of St. Patrick/St. Anthony Catholic Church of Grand Haven. He enjoyed playing volleyball, riding his bike, and playing and coaching baseball. On May 22, 1998, Phil married the former Bernita Dahlgren and she survives him along with two children, John Yedinak and Janet Lemson; brother, Richard Yedinak; sister-in-law, Gena Yedinak; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Steve Lemson; two grandsons, Michael and Benjamin; two sisters, Florence Yedinak and Helen Dramisino; and five brothers, Joseph, George, James, William and Eugene Yedinak. VISITATION will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel, 620 Washington Ave., 616-842-6100, with the ROSARY prayed at 6:00 PM. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (920 Fulton St., Grand Haven) with VISITATION one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in Robinson Township Cemetery.
