Phillip L. Venne's Obituary
Mr. Phillip L. Venne, age 86, passed early Friday morning, September 18, 2009 at VNS Hospice House.  He was born November 6, 1922 in Muskegon to John & Ethel (Nelson) Venne and had been a life resident of the area.  Phil was a WW II U.S. Army veteran.  In 1982, after 35 years of service, he retired as First Engineer from CXS Railroad. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and of the Railroad Association. Phil loved to fish and hunt in his younger days.  After retirement, he enjoyed wintering in Mission, TX. He also loved flowers, feeding his birds and his special girl, Taffy.  Phil’s caring and giving spirit was felt by all who knew and loved him.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends. On August 31, 1995, he married the former Barleen Ann Brand  and she survives him along with his step-daughters, Robin Brand and Rebecca Brand, daughter, Bonnie (Bruce) Buckley; son, Rick (Janet) Venne, step-son, Roy (Theresa) Farrell; special granddaughters, Katie Brand and Misty  Conley along with numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Venne;  1 brother, Floyd Venne and 1 sister, Lucille Sorenson. SERVICES will be 2PM Monday, September 21, 2009 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Conradt officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.  VISITATION with Phil’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at
