Philona A. (Rhanor) Kinsey's Obituary
Mrs. Philona (Rhanor) Kinsey, age 85, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born February 23, 1924 in Osakis, MN, to Curtis and Adella (Steling) Rhanor and lived Muskegon since the age of 3. On February 19, 1944, she married Walter C. Kinsey, Sr. in Savannah, GA, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1992. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Kinsey worked 25 years as a beautician. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Charlene Hunt; 7 grandchildren, Robert (Brenda) Miller, Alicia (Mel) Brown, Michelle (Kris) Shyne, Walter C. Kinsey III, Robert (Toni) Kinsey, Angelina Kinsey, Daved E. Kinsey; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 special sisters-in-law, Ruth Kinsey and Clarinda Terry; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Walter C. Kinsey, Jr., her brothers, Eugene, Sonny, Charles, William Rhanor and twin-sister, Naomi Bengtsson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert J. Conradt officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION with Mrs. Kinsey’s family will be one hour prior to the funeral, 12-1 PM Thursday at the church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
