Phoebe Eileen Meyers' Obituary
Phoebe Eileen Meyers, age 84, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born January 15, 1939 in Grand Rapids, MI to Harry and Phoebe (Malone) Christiansen. Phoebe graduated from Utica High School in 1957 and worked for Request Foods for 18 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Phoebe loved to travel, listen to music, and have fun. You always knew when Phoebe was in the room. She also enjoyed going to her “happy place”, the cottage up north. But more importantly, she loved spending time with her family. SURVIVORS include five children: Carl (Claire) Meyers of Ravenna, Michael (Michelle) Meyers of Myrtle Beach, SC, Julie (Kenneth) Holubeck of Ravenna, Suzanne (Chip Hartman) Maleski of Grand Haven, and Christine (Howard) Hoffman of Ravenna; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Amy) Christiansen of Atlanta, GA; sister, Joyce Degen of Harrison Twp., MI; many nieces and nephews. Phoebe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Meyers; daughter, Teresa Meyers; son-in-law, Tom Maleski; two brothers: Terry and Harry Christiansen. The rosary will be prayed starting at 9:30 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Visitation will then begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery immediately following the mass. MEMORIALS to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church will be appreciated.
