Phyllis Ann Deiters' Obituary
Phyllis A. Deiters, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born on August 10, 1928, to Walter and Alice (Pangborn) Fowler in Hershey, MI. Phyllis worked as head of food preparation for Muskegon High School until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church where she would often attend Bible study. She loved reading, watching foreign movies, and sunsets at Pere Marquette. Phyllis was known by many as a gracious host and entertainer. She held many lovely family parties and wine nights at her home. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Craig Deiters, Mindy (Rick) DeMann, Lisa (Mark Green) Deiters-Green, Jim (Robbin) Deiters; grandchildren, Brett (Amanda), Corey (April), Rick (Samantha), Michael, Christina, Austin, Paige, Morgan (Micah); ten great grandchildren; sisters, Jan Morton-Pudliski, Gerry Bishop; sister-in-law, Muriel Billingsley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Deiters; one brother; and seven sisters.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Phyllis will take place on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Lee Chapel of the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memory, donations in Phyllis’ name can be made out to either Forest Park Covenant Church, Samaritas Senior Living, West Michigan Hospice, Midland Open Door, or Midland Humane Society.
