Phyllis Ireland's Obituary
Phyllis K. Ireland, age 71, of Nunica passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at a local care facility. She was born March 19, 1935 to Edwin and Helen (Knappen) Henry in Grand Rapids, MI; and she married James Ireland on December 30, 1966, in Fruitport. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1998.
A life resident of Nunica, Mrs. Ireland had been a secretary for Pipple-Patterson of Grand Rapids for many years. She loved old movies, scrap booking and Elvis.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Mark) Wiekierak of Sparta and Helen (Colin) Gibson of Perth, Australia; two sons, Michael Ireland of Nunica and Steven (Deb) Hudson of Grant; a stepson, Roger (Jamie) Ireland of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a stepson Leon Ireland in 1971.
The service for Mrs. Ireland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake with Rev. Kathy Colliver officiating. Friends may meet the family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
