Mrs. Phyllis Mae Langlois' Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Mae Langlois, age 85, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Muskegon, MI. She was born in Muskegon on August 22, 1929 to F. Marlyn and Ruth (Sherman) Jenkins and was a life resident of the area. After graduating from Muskegon Heights High School, Phyllis worked at Sealed Power where she met her husband, Louis Langlois. They were married on May 28, 1949 in Muskegon and together shared 61 years of marriage. Phyllis was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was active with Cursillo, Circle of Love Prayer Group and Prayer Chain. She enjoyed camping, loved her family, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Phyllis is SURVIVED by 10 children, Louis (Anne) Langlois, Jr. of Paw Paw, MI, Patricia Langlois of Roosevelt Park, Theresa (Wayne) Johnson of Waterford, MI, Vincent (Rita) Langlois of Fruitport, Annette (Robert) Judd of North Muskegon, Gregory Langlois of Chicago, IL, Lois (David) Martinez of Norton Shores, Andrew (Anne) Langlois of Grand Rapids, John (Laura) Langlois of Auburn Hills, MI, Jeffery (Teresa) Langlois of North Muskegon; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and two sisters, Marilyn McCartney and Evelyn Hagarth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Robert “Louie” Langlois and one granddaughter, Sarah Langlois. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 and from 10-11AM Monday at church. The Rosary will be prayed by Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson at 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to St. Francis de Sales or to Harbor Hospice.
