Phyllis Jane Nordin's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Jane Nordin, age 82, died Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015 in Roosevelt Park, MI. She was born September 25, 1932 in Stanton, Iowa to Anton and Ruby (Peterson) Anderson; and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1988, moving here from Ann Arbor, MI. Phyllis was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed a life-long love of music and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Jane (Lawrence) Bednarz of Muskegon, Beth (Jeff) Riviere of Chattanooga, TN, Mark (Karen) Nordin of Indianapolis, IN and Erik Nordin of Anchorage, AK; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, Michelle and Brent Jandron and sons, Ty and Henry, Christy and Chris King and children, Tori, Christina and Travis, Kelly and Matt Firing and daughter Betsy, Megan and J.P. Stokes and Tess and Kate Nordin; 1 sister-in-law, Biddy (Sterling) Ward of Ashland, OH; and by her former husband and his wife, Ivan C. and Joanne Nordin of Holland. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Marlin Anderson and 1 sister, Joyce Walsh. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Phyllis will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church (4475 Henry St., Norton Shores, MI 49441) with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION with Phyllis’ family will be 6-8:00 PM Friday, April 10th at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441; and one-hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will follow in the St. Mark Memorial Wall. For a more lasting memorial, you are asked to consider the Music Program of St. Mark.
