Mrs. Phyllis Rose Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Rose Smith, age 83, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. Phyllis was born June 21, 1934 in Detroit, MI to Chester and Lucille (Szocivski) Kolvdziejski. On February 19, 1955, she married Edward G. Smith, Sr. and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1993. She was a member of The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene and volunteered with the Salvation Army Women’s League and the Lion’s Club. Phyllis enjoyed volunteering, knitting, and caring for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Leonard) Holt, Kathleen Smith, Edward G. (Sandra) Smith, Jr., Mariann Rose Smith and Mitchell S. Smith; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernadette Ratza; and 2 brothers, Alexander and Eugene. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, 2270 S. Mill Iron Rd. with Rev. Aaron Gregory officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church (10-11 AM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene.
