Phyllis Diane Carroll's Obituary
Ms. Phyllis Diane Carroll, age 69 passed away Wednesday morning, April 22, 2009, surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was born in Vanceburg, KY on December 21, 1939 the 7th of 9 children to Theodore and Viola (Staggs) Carroll. She came to Muskegon as a young lady and was a graduate of Muskegon H.S. Throughout the years Phyllis divided her time between Muskegon and Kentucky. In Muskegon Phyllis had worked at both Plumb’s and Family Foods in the meat departments, Dr. Parson’s and the Muskegon Hts. branch of Hackley Bank as a teller. She attended Oak Crest Church of God, enjoyed sports, loved her children and was known for her artistic nature. She is survived by: four children, Vicky Jensen, Francis (Shelly) Jensen, Dana (Lorrie) Jensen and Becky (Mark) Wilson all of Muskegon; two brothers, David (Ilene) Carroll of Vanceburg, KY and Jeff (Debby) Carroll of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, two sisters, Delores Johnson and Ruth Crosby and four brothers, Rev. Rudishell McKinney, Harry Francis McKinney, Ralph Carroll and Denver Carroll. The funeral service will be held: 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 27, 2009 at, Oak Crest Church of God, 1540 Leonard St. Rev. Robert Rogers officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial: Salvation Army.
