Phyllis M. Chynoweth's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis M. Chynoweth, age 79, of St. Clair Shores, MI, formerly of Muskegon, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Troy, MI. She was born in Muskegon on May 24, 1932 to John and Effie (DeVries) Longstreet. Mrs. Chynoweth was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church where she was active in the Senior Center. Her home, her family, her friends and her church were the things she cherished the most. On October 15, 1949, Phyllis married Ralph R. Chynoweth and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Rae Barrie of the Netherlands; two sons, Mark (Pauline) Chynoweth of Roseville, MI and David (Susan) Chynoweth of St. Clair Shores, MI; six grandchildren, Lisa McDaniel (Scott), Teddy Barrie, Craig Chynoweth, Michelle Shovan (Curtis), Jessica Chynoweth and Natalie Chynoweth 3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. SERVICES will be 10AM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Greg VanderMeer officiating. VISITATION will be from 4-9PM Friday. INTERMENT will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI. MEMORIALS to Fellowship Reformed Church would be appreciated.
