Mrs. Polly M. Blodgett's Obituary
Mrs. Polly M. Blodgett, age 86, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus. She was born September 19, 1926 in Ludington, MI to Albin and Rose (Genie) Johnson and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On February 14, 1946, she married Edward M. Blodgett in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1994. Prior to retiring, Polly worked 10 years as a server for Dunkin Doughnuts and over 5 years in food service for Muskegon Catholic Central High School. She attended Family Bible Church in Roosevelt Park. Polly enjoyed shopping, visiting the casinos, doll collecting and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Sandra Mercurio, Louis Blodgett, Pam (Jeff) Pekel, Brad Blodgett; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her companion Chihuahua, “Rufus”. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Donald Johnson and 1 sister, Marge Forton. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 2, 2012 at Family Bible Church (1256 W. Broadway) with Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 6-8 PM Thursday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral, 10-11 AM Thursday at the church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
