Preston J. "Bud" Kemperman's Obituary
Preston J. “Bud” Kemperman, age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was born December 27, 1924 in Muskegon to William and Mattie (Schripsema) Kemperman. Bud was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He had worked for Slagboom Tool and Die and Alofs Manufacturing in Grand Rapids before his retirement in 1988. On December 12, 1945, he married the former Dorothy M. Klynstra in North Blendon, MI. Bud was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church; loved going on snowmobiling trips and winter camping; was an avid boater and was very involved at the Harbour Towne Yacht Club/Marina; and in his later years had worked at Wasserman’s Flowers and Gifts. SURVIVORS include his wife of 72 years, Dorothy; 3 children: Jerry (Betsy) Kemperman, Jacqelyn (John) Rynbrandt, William Kemperman; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Kemperman; and brother, William Kemperman. A MEMORIAL GATHERING will be held from 12 Noon until 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Forest Park Covenant Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
