Rachel E. Atchison's Obituary
Rachel E. Atchison, age 88 met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2, 1933 to William and Callie (French) Atchison in Springfield, TN. On August 28, 1952, she married Albert Wade in Mississippi. Together they cherished 36 years full of love and laughter. Albert preceded her in death on September 9, 1989. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and had a strong belief in God. Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on their outings to Cracker Barrel. Most of the time you could find her shopping there instead of enjoying her meal. She enjoyed her home especially sitting on the porch soaking in the sun and admiring the flowers, birds and squirrels. Rachel took an interest to people and was known as the “neighborhood watch.” She also had a keen eye for a handsome gentleman, especially one accompanied with a cute derriere. She was a loving and flirtatious woman, who could win your heart with her southern belle charm. Her tender-loving and kindhearted spirit will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 7 children, Brenda Anderson, Janet (Michael) Anderson, Betty (Paul) Anderson-Adkins, Donna (Michael) Flanery, Charles (Nancy) Anderson, Robert (Crystal) Anderson and William (Janet) Anderson; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Wade; daughter, Kathy JoAnn Anderson; 2 brothers; 3 sisters, Pauline, Eva and Ruth; and grandson, Joshua Wade. A Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery, 2-210 Swor Rd. Springville, Henry County, TN.
