Rachel W. Plahutnik's Obituary
Rachel W. Plahutnik, age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She was born December 8, 1926 in Bristol, IN to Russel and Dollie (Evans) Sapp. On November 26, 1949, she married Frank Plahutnik in Cadillac, MI and he preceded Rachel in death on March 23, 2006. Rachel attended Fruitport Congregational Church and was a member of the Greater Muskegon Women’s Club. She was a talented pianist who played by ear. Rachel was a nature lover and appreciated the beauty that nature created – especially bird watching. She loved country music and was a fan of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Survivors include 3 children, Frank (Kay) Plahutnik, Jr., Michael Plahutnik, Paula (Steve) Jones; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 16, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Al Farkas officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Pinehill Cemetery, Fruitport. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
