Shelly MacArthur, (97)
Marie Rachelle MacArthur (née Gagnon) age 97, of Fruitport, passed away on 15 October 2025. She was born to the late George Romeo Gagnon and Marie Anna (Caron) Gagnon on June 9th,1928 in Mont Joli, Quebec Canada.
Rachelle, known as Shelly to her friends and family, was married to the late Grahame Orton MacArthur and lived for many years in Riverside, Illinois. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6869 of North Riverside IL.
Rachelle was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She had great fun participating in the activities of the Victorian Ladies Club and enjoyed attending dances with fellow Seniors in the community.
Rachelle was well-known for her skill as a dress designer/seamstress and was adept at all kinds of needlework. She especially enjoyed creating costumes and formal gowns.
Rachelle is survived by her brother, Maurice Gagnon, also by her children, Deborah MacArthur and Daniel MacArthur, as well as three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life on November 16, 2025 from 2 - 4 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100 will be held.
