I have very fond memories of Ralph. He and I were the only Marines working at Teledyne. I was the program Manager for the Vehicle section of the Development Department and Ralph was working for the Business Development group. We took a number of trips together to meet with potential customers and introduce some of our products to them. We drove to these meetings and these were very pleasant trips with each of us talking about our shared Marine heritage (war stories). The Marine Hymn's third verse states "if the Army and Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines". They just got a very fine guard officer.
