Ralph E. Horan's Obituary
Ralph E. Horan, age 90, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his home. He was born January 6, 1928 in Cheboygan, MI to Thomas and Barbara (Archer) Horan and lived here in the Muskegon area most of his life. Ralph was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Ralph worked for GTE and retired as a switchman after 40 years. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #706. Ralph was also active in the Cursillo Movement and the Michigan Catholic Charismatic Community. SURVIVORS include his wife, Rita (nee, Hoos); 5 children, Marsha (William) Spalding, Madonna Horan, Lawrence Horan, Leo (Vicki) Horan, Mary Horan and Jim; 4 step-children, Mike (Verna) Locke, Carl (Shelly) Locke, Linda (Dennis) Schulte, Randy (Cora) Locke; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (nee, Bird), 4 brothers and 2 sisters. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (213) 759-8565 where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to Mass, 10-11 AM Thursday at the church.
