Ralph Katt's Obituary
Mr. Ralph Katt, age 93, died Saturday morning, June 27, 2009 in Norton Shores. He was born July 16, 1915 in Muskegon to Harry & Jennie (Bosch) Katt and had been a life resident of the area. Mr. Katt had been employed at Sealed Power prior working as a polisher and buffer at Peerless Plating for 30 years and retiring in 1980. Ralph was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church and a former member of Muskegon Heights Christian Reformed Church where he had served as a deacon. On June 8, 1939 he married the former Josephine Rozema and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2008 after almost 69 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include 3 children. Ruth (John) Humphreys of Whitehall, Vernon (Elaine) Katt of Canton, MI and Donald (Lori) Katt of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Sharon (Dennis) Reso of Plymouth, MI, Janna (Dan) Male of Belmont, MI, Ronald Katt of Harrison Twp., MI, David (Beth) Humphreys of Grand Rapids, MI, Eric Katt of Muskegon and Jennifer Katt of Harrison Twp.; 3 great-grandchildren, Rachael & William Male and Christopher Humphreys; 1 sister, Nellie Herlein of Grand Haven and by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Katt was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Stena Postma, Anna Hommes and Jeanette VanDop and by 2 brothers, John and Clarence Katt. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Rev. John Rop officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Ralph’s family will be one-hour prior to the service at Calvin Church. CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan Christian High School.
