Ralph W. Venema's Obituary
Mr. Ralph Venema, age 60, passed away at home on Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was born on May 15, 1953 to Ralph and Dorothy (Dyer) Venema in Muskegon. Ralph was a member of Fruitport Christian Reformed Church. He ran a nonprofit organization that works with orphanages around the world called Concern International, Inc. Prior to that he was the owner of Venema Construction Company for 10 years. Ralph truly enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, teaching the proper and safe use of firearms and working on cars. On April 13, 1973, he married Marjorie DeRuischer and she survives him along with 11 children, Rebecca (Scott) Olthof, Todd (Jennifer) Venema, Michael (Amber) Venema, Heather (Jake) Wierengo, Melvin Venema, Linda Venema, Mickey Venema, Joel Venema, Victoria Venema, Daniel Venema and Nicholas Venema; 10 grandchildren; 5 sisters, Sharon Zapf, Barb (Michael) Beachum, Christine (David) Hughes, Laura (Christopher) Gotaas and Nancy (Steve) Walker. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 231-798-1100 with Rev. Bob Pohler officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Tuesday from 2-4PM and 6-9 PM at the funeral home. BURIAL will take place at Fruitport Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Concern International, Inc. would be appreciated.
