Mr. Ralph Bud Workman's Obituary
Mr. Ralph “Bud” Jennings Workman, age 88, passed away January 24, 2015 at a local hospital. Mr. Workman was born June 22, 1926 to William and Winona (Park) Workman in Muskegon. He served his country at the front line under General George Patton’s command in the 3rd Army 65th Division, US Army during WWII. On March 15, 1947 he married the former Lannie W. Smith. Bud was employed as a mechanic for the US Post Office for 14 years, retiring in 1975. He attended Dalton Baptist Church and was a member of Holton American Legion Post 397. Bud loved working on and restoring cars. He also loved spending time with his family; especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ralph is SURVIVED by Lannie, his wife of 67 years; his children, Sue (Roland) Bennett, Dale (Betty) Workman and Jessica (Paul) King, all of Twin Lake; Beth (Pat) Brown of Reed City; Reginald Workman of Whitehall and Elaine (Richard) Van Nett of Muskegon; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Roger; brothers, Fred and Luke “Duke”; and sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Burns, Anabelle “Annie” Witteveen and Bessie Ludlow. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Dalton Baptist Church, 3777 Holton Road, with Rev.¬¬¬¬ Robert DeWitt officiating and full military rites under the auspices of Holton American Legion Post 397. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 446.
