Ralph E. Gonyon's Obituary
Mr. Ralph E. Gonyon, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Fremont, MI. He was born May 31, 1930 in Wisconsin to Fred and Jennie (McKay) Gonyon, and resided in the area most of his life. Ralph was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He then worked at Muskegon Piston Ring for over 20 years before retiring. Ralph was a member of the Newaygo County American Legion, and loved NASCAR, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Rose Warner; and by his second wife, the former Juanita “Penny” Poe. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Shirley (Michael) Kinsman of White Cloud, and Rhonda DePagter of Twin Lake; 3 grandchildren, Brooke, Sophia, and Jessie; 4 sisters, Genevieve (George) Rosema, Clarabelle Moore, Betty (Jerry) Shunk, and Carol (Joe) Feldman. Ralph was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7 PM Tuesday. Burial with full military honors will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan will be appreciated.
